First Ammonoosuc Regional Energy Fair

On Saturday, April 5, 2008 the Ammonoosuc Regional Energy Fair
swept us into the learning process. Sponsored by the Energy Committees
of Bethlehem, Franconia, and Littleton, and by Public Service
of New Hampshire, this first-in-the-North-Country event drew many
local residents and business people into the new Profile School.
Tours conducted by Rich Larcom, Principle of Profile, highlighted
the many energy savings included in the design and construction
of the new building.

Four hundred or more people enjoyed exchanges with thirty-two exhibitors,
learning about practical, sustainable energy systems and ways to
decrease the energy they use in their homes, organizations and businesses.
|
|
PSNH and NHEC were there to encourage participation in their energy
efficiency programs. Many people bought energy-saving compact fluorescent
lamps (CFL) @ $1.00.

Amid the background buzz of the exhibit hall, Patrick Miller, past
Executive Director of the Jordan Institute, captured an attentive
audience with a convincing call to action.
|
|

Local residents and business people talked with builders, energy
conservation experts, solar, wind and geothermal energy systems
installers, pellet stove dealers, and building remodeling and insulation
suppliers.

In the afternoon, illustrated "Discovery
Sessions," about saving energy at home, energy audits and home
improvements, and new home building technologies and techniques
- were surprising and informative.

We heard many very appreciative comments from both attendees and
exhibitors about the value of their day at the fair. This is your
invitation to visit, or revisit, the fair, - on this website.
